On the first day of a new year we should realize that the previous year is behind us and that a new year, a new beginning, is before us. The former things have passed away, and all things should be new. In the light of the Lord, our former weaknesses, failures, and mistakes will come to an end, and we need not bring them with us. With a new year, we can have a new beginning, a good beginning, starting in resurrection.
The proper celebration of a new year is to have a new beginning.

The following excerpts are taking from the Life-study of Hebrews.
The book of Hebrews was written to warn and to encourage the Hebrew believers to go on and enter into the third stage of salvation into the rest of the good land (Hebrews 4:11) and into the Holy of Holies in the spirit (10:19-20).
- The Remaining Sabbath Rest
When man is on the earth expressing God and representing Him, God’s desire is satisfied. When we are satisfied in our God’s desire, we are resting even as we are laboring and working.
- Entering into the Sabbath Rest Being Altogether a Matter of Our Spirit
Today the throne of God and the Holy of Holies, both of which are in the heavens, are joined to our spirit. Hence, our spirit is a most crucial spot.
- God’s Habitation Being in Our Spirit
Now it is easy for us to come forward to the throne of grace, for it is right within the gate. While the throne of grace is in the heavens, by and through Christ it has been joined to our spirit.
